Let It Snow!
Presented to parent volunteer Lisa Morales in the early 1990s.
by Julie Lewis
In the winter, on Thursdays, at MLAJA school
You will find Lisa Morales ready to carpool.
We ski and we snowboard as fast as we can,
She’s always there to load up her van.
It doesn’t matter if it is cold or it rains,
She even knows how to put on chains.
The line is long, there are a hundred of us,
But she’s waiting with a smile as we get off the bus.
Wires, tickets, boots, poles and skis,
She helps with them all as good as you please.
When the sun is out, Lisa goes into motion
She starts to apply the suntan lotion.
"This snowboard costs more to rent!” you say with a groan.
Don’t worry. Lisa will float you a loan.
And she doesn’t stop even at that,
She has extra gloves, scarves and hats.
With students outfitted and on the slopes
She doesn’t just sit around and mope.
She’s off to the lodge with all of OUR stuff
Then she may sit and stitch on a cuff.
As the students come in from their lessons for lunch,
She checks them in and hugs them a bunch
"How’d you do?” she asks in genuine concern.
I only fell ten times. I’m beginning to learn!”
For the faculty she gives special encouragement
She is always worried about our nourishment.
Cheesecake, brownies, cookies and more,
She always has food galore.
She is our favorite snow bunny,
We could never repay her with any amount of money.
So we give you our thanks Lisa Morales
You surely do boost the morale of all of us.
